A stay in nature in Friesland starts here, on the edge of the Rottige Meente: a landscape of reeds, waterways and windmills that begins right next to the park. You sleep in a cabin with its own hot tub, a tiny house or a sustainable greenhouse lodge with a glass front. Weerribben-Wieden National Park is about three kilometres away. Boetiekpark de Kas is that kind of place, with a park that deliberately stays small. The grounds are in Scherpenzeel, in the south-east of Friesland. The Van Wegen family started the park in 2001, and its founders still live here.
